Erik Straser

Erik Straser is a Partner of ClearSky and a member of its Investment Committee. Mr. Straser has 25 years of experience as an early-stage VC. Prior to joining ClearSky, he was a vc-in-residence at Current by General Electric and worked closely with the senior leadership and GE Ventures. An active seed investor, Mr. Straser was also co-president of Stanford Angels and Entrepreneurs. Mr. Straser was also formerly a general partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures. Mr. Straser holds a B.S. in engineering from Harvey Mudd College and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in engineering from Stanford University. Mr. Straser currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Diamanti and Renew Home (f.k.a. OhmConnect), in addition to currently serving as a board observer of Mainspring Energy and Ubicquia. Mr. Straser was also a member of the advisory board of the Precourt Institute for Energy at Stanford University. He formerly served as a board member of Paradata Systems (acquired by Becton, Dickson & Co.), Recurrent Energy (acquired by Sharp), and Sabrix (acquired by Thomson Reuters). Mr. Straser was also formerly a board observer of Preempt Security (acquired by CrowdStrike) and Space Time Insight (acquired by Nokia).
