Sam Small
Operating Partner & CISO
Sam Small, Ph.D., is an Operating Partner and the Chief Information Security Officer of ClearSky. Prior to joining ClearSky full-time in 2022, Mr. Small served as a security portfolio consultant to ClearSky (since 2013), Chief Security Officer at ZeroFox, Chief Executive Officer at Fast Orientation, and Managing Partner of Camaril. In addition to serving as a litigation consultant and expert witness in numerous software-related legal proceedings, Mr. Small is the recipient of two patents issued by the USPTO.
Mr. Small currently serves as interim CEO of SAIFE, Inc., and holds a B.S. from the College of William and Mary and an M.S.E. and Ph.D. in computer science from Johns Hopkins University. He is also a graduate of the CISO certification program co-administered by Heinz College and the CERT division of the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.
